Why Designing a Website Doesn’t Have To Be Difficult

If you’re building a website for your business then you’ll be thinking about how it’s going to be set out, what colors you need, and what you want to achieve. You might have started writing some pages for the site or even looked at competitors who have a really great looking site. But, just because you want a great looking site it doesn’t mean the process from development and building to the final production phase has to be difficult.

There are a few stages that you can go through to help you make the process easier for your own business website. It may take a little amount of time, but doing the foundation work here will mean. You want to have a clear picture in your mind about what actions you want a visitor to take – this might sound a little complicated but it isn’t. First, put yourself in the mind of one of your potential customers (a website user) and imagine what type of information they would be looking for that your company offers; which is completely different to what a lot of people advise on the internet: where you should look at what you want to say about your company. It’s wrong; people don’t want to be sold to, they want a business to offer advice and then say what they have on offer.

Once you have the customer in mind, and what you want them to do, you need to put together a simple framework, which is a set of pages and resources that you want to include on your site and is the start of the design process.

You can then choose a simple method to get your website up and start adding the content pages, with a popular program to choose being WordPress. This used to be known in the past as blogging software for people who were building blogs, but it has recently become known as a fast growing platform for businesses to build and develop their websites on. This is much easier to use than a traditional site would have been built on (such as HTML) as it’s much easier for novices to use, update the pages and add new content. Also, with Facebook and Twitter increasing for businesses in their online activity, this software allows you to integrate these social media sites too.
